This is a paper that I assisted in putting together:  The human brain is a fascinating organ. It is a part of the body that scientists are still trying to study and understand. However, there are several aspects which have been discovered. One of the many functions of the brain is the way it processes memory. Each brain specifically caters to the whims of the person by processing what is important to the individual in all aspects of their life. As a result, memory is one vital cognitive asset. Without memory the ability to learn, living as regular human being would be close to impossible. Humans and animals would not be able to recognize or recall information or experiences that they had. Life would be meaningless. There are many different ways for people to process, recall and recognize memories. The better one processes information, the more one will remember it. The levels of processing theory states, that the more one analyzes and deeply thinks about the information t...
This is a paper that I assisted in putting together: Mercy college Communication Plan NCATE Professor Abtan – EDUC 514 Chana Sanowicz 4/3/2016   “Words are singularly the most powerful force available to humanity. We can choose to use this force constructively with words of encouragement, or destructively using words of despair. Words have energy and power with the ability to help, to heal, to hinder, to hurt, to harm, to humiliate and to humble.”   (Berg) This is why being able to express one’s self is so essential. Communication is important because it allows two or more parties to understand each other as well as to know what is going on. It is an important skill to have, because with proper communication skills, there is nothing that can hold a person back. This is especially so when it comes to a child’s mental, emot...
This is a completed edited piece, (written by a client): “But it’s been so long, it feels so wrong It’s not where we belong… Our urgent cries will pierce the skies Tell Hashem, ad mosai - till when." (Fried, 1999, Track 2) While reading the chapters where it describes the details of the persecution of the Jewish people throughout many generations in France, Germany, Spain, and Portugal, I realized that I had started humming the song quoted above. In addition, I found myself thinking off all the stories and the difficult times that the Jews went through throughout the rest of the day. I was trying to understand how any religious, social, and economic reasons could have possibly been enough of an excuse for Roman Catholic Church to start up with the Jews? Although we will never truly understand why, Rabbi Schloss in his book 2000 years of Jewish History, records what has happened over the centuries. There were times where there was absolutely no reason other than the...

This is a completed edited piece, (written by a client): When a person discusses or thinks about the body, there is often wonder as to which part is the most important-the head, nose or mouth? Each organ is vital to the body. There is a story that speaks about the importance of the organs and which one carries a heavier responsibility.   A messenger was heading to the palace of a very sick king to give him life-saving medicine which was created from lion’s milk. The night before he went to the king, he had a strange dream where his body parts were fighting over who had the most important function and use of the body. Each part had a different reason- the feet claimed that without them the milk would not have been obtained; the hands attested to the fact that without them they would not have been able to milk the lion and take the milk once finished. The eyes said that without them they would not have known where to go (Godfrey, 2005). Each body part insisted that their reasonin...
This is a completed edited piece, (written by a client): The age old question that is frequently asked when tragedies occur is- why? Why did this kindhearted man die in the car crash? Why were the boys kidnapped and murdered? Why did those shootings have to happen? There are many why's that are asked when people are desperately searching for answers to learn from the situation and/or calm themselves down. The same can be said for major calamities that have befallen our nation. Why did the Jewish nation have to suffer from the pogroms, crusades, the Spanish Inquisition, and even more recently the holocaust? What is the meaning or lesson behind such events? While there are several sources that say it was because of our actions (whether between the Jews and God, Jew and another Jew, or Jews and the other nations), other sources say that on these harsh decrees that the Jewish people endured one may not ask why. In 2000 Years of Jewish History (2004), Rabbi Schloss explains one a...
This is a completed edited piece, (written by a client): What an appropriate assignment to receive and to be writing just as the eleventh of Nissan, the Lubavitcher Rebbe’s birthday, is approaching fast. For you see when I was asked to write a journal entry about a leader whom I respect and from whom I can learn valuable lessons, I immediately thought of the Rebbe. His life was filled lessons, stories and examples that eventually would be teaching us how to live our lives. He would also give us many lessons that were very down to earth and easy to comprehend, as well as advising anyone from all walks of life who sought his guidance in any area that they were struggling. His days were filled with hours and hours devoted to his Chassidim and every other person who needed a hand, simply an ear or even advice. The Rebbe showed us how to live as proper people and proud Jews through his own actions. He was a man who led by example. The Rebbe showed his love for every individual, and...
